Katsina governor sacks 5th political appointee in less than 5 days

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has terminated the appointment of the Chairman, Board of Directors of Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA), Bilyaminu Mohammed-Rimi.

 

This announcement of the sack was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Muntari Lawal.

 

The statement said the termination of the appointment takes immediate effect.

 

Lawal added that the governor has immediately replaced Mohammed-Rimi with Gambo Abdulkadir-Rimi, as the new Chairman of the KTSTA Board.

 

Masari said Abdulkadir-Rimi’s appointment is based on merit and also in recognition of his past performance when he served the state in different capacities.

 

“He also seizes the opportunity to congratulate the new chairman and urged him to bring his vast experience to bear in the discharge of his duties”, the statement said.

 

Until his appointment, Abdulkadir-Rimi served as General Manager at the KTSTA, from December 2013 to September 2015.

 

Governor Masari had on Monday, February 27, sacked 4 other appointees.

 

They included Tasi’u Dandagoro, the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, the Permanent Secretary of Sustainable Development Goals, Fatima Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Aminu Waziri and Yusuf Barmo, Chairman of the state’s Pilgrims Welfare Board.
