The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has warned auto dealers in Lagos against displaying vehicles for sale in unauthorized locations, such as road setbacks, walkways, and other prohibited areas, which obstructs traffic flow.

LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, issued the warning during a meeting with the Lagos Motor Dealers Association, stating that the practice poses a risk to public safety, obstructs pedestrian movement, and exacerbates traffic congestion.

Bakare-Oki emphasized that the state government will enforce the law against violators, including fines and impoundment of vehicles. He urged auto dealers to adhere to guidelines for vehicle display to avoid sanctions.

The Lagos Motor Dealers Association pledged to cooperate with LASTMA and educate its members on the importance of complying with state regulations.

This crackdown aims to maintain order, ensure smooth traffic flow, and promote a safe and orderly environment for residents and road users.
