On the last day of campaign before Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had a drive through campaign in Alimosho Local Government Area on Thursday.

A large crowd of supporters of the All Progressives Congress and even passersby welcomed the governor’s campaign team in the area with the largest population of voters in the state.

The ecstatic crowd was seeing dancing and enthusiastically waving at the governor who waved back passionately from the open roof of his car.

Alimosho, with a total of 855, 724 registered voters is a key battleground for electoral contests in Lagos. The Labour Party won the presidential election in the area two weeks ago with a total of 71,327 votes while the APC scored a total of 62, 909 votes to suffer its first defeat to any opposition in the area in recent political history of Lagos.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his ruling party will be seeking to reverse that come Saturday and reestablish the party’s political dominance in Alimosho during the governorship and state assembly polls.
