Dr Paul Akintelure, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 18 governorship election in Ondo State is dead.
Akintelure died in the early hours of Tuesday according to reports.
He had raised an alarm over alleged threats to his life just a few days ago.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Oladapo Akintelure on March 21, he said there were direct and indirect attempts on his life.
“Initially, I hoped these incidents would dissipate over time, yet regrettably, they have escalated to pose a serious threat to my life”, part of the statement read.
The former running mate to late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu during the 2012 governorship election was hoping to participate in the ruling APC governorship primary election scheduled for April 25, 2024 before his sudden death.
He was a medical doctor and hailed from Igbotako in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
