Portable meets bail conditions, released

Nigerian hip hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has been released from the Ilaro Correctional Centre, Ogun State after fulfilling his bail conditions.

The legal team representing Portable made this known to our correspondent via a telephone chat on Monday evening.

Chief Magistrate Aina Soneye of the Ifo Magistrate Court  had admitted the defendant to a bail of three hundred thousand Naira for the first charge with two sureties in like sum owning properties within the jurisdiction of the case and one being a relative of the defendant, while the second charge is five hundred thousand Naira with sureties in like sum.

Portable was early on Monday remanded at the Ilaro Correctional Centre pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions after briefly appearing before the Magistrate.

He is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on assault, stealing and resisting arrest contrary to Sections 517, 351, 197 of the criminal code laws of Ogun State.
