Former President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has lost his mother, Florence Saraki, at the age of 89.
Mrs Saraki passed away on Tuesday as confirmed by Saraki on his verified official social media handles.
“With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18th, 2024,” Mr Saraki posted.
“Details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared in due course. We appreciate your love, prayers, and support as we mourn Mama’s passing.”
Meanwhile, the Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has condoled with the Saraki family on the death of their matriarch, Florence Saraki.
A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Wednesday noted that the governor particularly commiserate with the former Senate President Bukola Saraki and the rest of the family on the sad development.
It stated, “The governor urges the Sarakis to be consoled by the fine legacies of their matriarch. He prayed to God for the repose of her soul and to uphold the family.’’
