In a groundbreaking collaboration, Nigerian music sensations Simi and Tiwa Savage joined forces to deliver the highly anticipated single ‘Men Are Crazy’. Amidst the buzz surrounding the song’s release, Simi opened up about the inspiration behind the controversial title during an interview on Way Up With Angela Yee.

Addressing the online uproar sparked by the song’s title, Simi revealed that she initially had no intention of explaining the choice of name. However, as the negative reactions from some male observers poured in, she decided to let the song speak for itself upon its release.

“I honestly wasn’t going to go on an explaining spree at the time. I was like when the song comes out they will see what I’m trying to say,” shared the award-winning songstress.

Simi acknowledged that the online reaction, though mixed, played a significant role in generating anticipation for the track’s debut. She credited Tiwa Savage for adding depth to the song’s message with her poignant lyrics, particularly the line “Men are crazy but I still want one in my bed,” which softened the song’s tone from its original blunt assertion.

The collaboration between Simi and Tiwa Savage marks a milestone moment for female artists in the Afrobeats genre, showcasing their unity and collective talent in the male-dominated industry.

‘Men Are Crazy’ follows the success of ‘All I Want’, released in February 2024, and serves as a precursor to Simi’s upcoming album slated for release later this year.

In addition to discussing her musical endeavors, Simi also addressed recent social media events, including her husband Adekunle Gold’s defense of her during a public exchange with producer Samklef.

As Simi continues to break barriers and make her mark in the music industry, her candid insights into her creative process and collaborative efforts with Tiwa Savage offer fans a deeper understanding of the inspiration behind their chart-topping single.
