The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has dismissed allegations that some people in the presidency are working against the interest of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate for the February 25th election, Bola Tinubu.

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai had in a television interview earlier on Wednesday alleged that there are some elements in the Presidential Villa that want the party to lose the elections because they didn’t get their way during the party presidential primaries. He said such people are hiding behind the president’s desire to do what he thinks is right to sabotage the party’s presidential campaign.

However,  Mr Lai Mohammed, while speaking with reporters after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, said the federal government is not aware of anyone within the presidential villa that is working against any candidate for the presidential election.

Mohammed said the government has been fair to all candidates regardless of party affiliations in the build up to the elections. He said President Muhammadu Buhari has been showing by words and deeds that he is committed to free and fair elections for every contestant.

“If there is anybody who is working against any candidate, we don’t know officially”, Lai Mohammed said.
