Nigerian singer, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has apologised to his fans for his failure to show up at a concert where he was scheduled to perform in Ghana over the weekend.
Many fans of the musician had taken to the social media to call him out and express displeasure over his absence at the show billed for the Accra Sports Stadium.

Love You Ghana – Wizkid
A statement on the Nigerian singer’s Twitter handle on Sunday night showed that Wizkid regrets the development. He apologised to the disappointed fans and appealed for their understanding saying he wouldn’t act in such manner without a serious reason.

According to him his absence was due to safety and production issues. He, however, promised that his team will schedule another show for his fans in Ghana.

He wrote: “Love you Ghana. Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart….
“I sincerely apologize, to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was charged, looking forward to doing this show.

“However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided (sic) with honoring my fans and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do and I had to.

“Unfortunately, up until the day of this show, there continued to be safety and production issues that prevented me from putting on a high-quality show that my fans deserve.

“My team and myself are working on delivering a show to my amazing fans in Ghana. It will be just us, me and you. Date and details soon. Love you”.
