The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party winner of the governorship election in Zamfara State.
Lawal, according to the election’s Returning Officer, Professor Kasimu Shehu, scored a total of 377, 726 votes to defeat incumbent governor, Bello Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress who scored a total of 311, 976 votes.
The result was declared in the early hours of Tuesday.
